Last week my girlfriend sent me a text and said we should go to Cars and Coffee. We usually try to make it out on the holiday weekends since there's always a great turnout. We definitely weren't let down this time. I was shocked when I rounded the corner and found myself staring at a row of cars I didn't even know were in the country. Nissan 360 had brought out a few cars, including some from the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Here's the lineup. Needless to say I was stunned. Most of these cars I've seen pictures of, and one day hoped to see in Japan. The last thing I expected that morning was to see them all lined up in front of me. The Prince Skyline 2000GT was my personal favorite, and I spent quite a bit of time photographing it.
It happened to be sitting right next to one of my other favorite Japanese classics. The CSP311 Silvia. Handbuilt body over the same chassis as a Fairlady Roadster.
Moving down the line we have the R380-II. From the time when men were men, and pontoon fuel tanks were considered crumple zones.
Now we have the John Morton BRE 510 from the lead image. I believe this is an actual Trans Am Championship winning car. Towards the end before they loaded the cars, they pulled the car out with it's rival for some photos...lots of history here.
If the BRE 510 could talk, I wonder what it would say about being parked next to the Juke-R?
Eventually they did have to start loading the cars. None of the race cars were started. Not a huge surprise, but it would of been nice to hear some rumbling. They did drive the Silvia away. I overheard one of the caretakers remark that it always started on the first try.
I snagged this shot of the Datsun 14 just before they loaded it on the trailer. It's amazing how tiny this thing is.
That's all for the Nissan Heritage Collection. I've got a ton more photos though (including multiple Veyrons and MP4-12C's). Look for part two and maybe a part three. Here's a few of the other JDM cars (and USDM Japanese cars) to hold you over until then though. A Bluebird SSS Coupe, a V-Spec Nismo R33, a Toyota Corona, and an only in California Miata.

My mom sent me a message saying that there were 4 Veyrons there. . . That is just fucking silly. I do miss seeing all of the crazy supercars so often they just seem normal.
Sadly I only got to go to Irvine CnC once.

I guess I missed the 4th one...one was leaving when I got there, and two were still parked. Irvine C&C is amazing. I showed up one time and there was a multi-million dollar row of vintage Ferrari's.
Also your mom must be awesome.

I posted this yesterday, but Kinja ate everything between Noon and 7:30pm yesterday, so that's why I jumped it.

Soooo jelly! My home is technically still in San Diego, but I've been working out of the country for the past 4 years, so I've never made it to the Irvine C&C. I really have to figure out a way to get there!

It's well worth it. It's about an hour drive for us, so we only do the wake up 4:30 routine occasionally. Make sure to go on a holiday weekend if you can.

As if I didn't want to move to that area bad enough. I need to find a way to get to Irvine asap. Holy hell. Great pictures, great post. What did you use to shoot if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks!
I'm using a Canon T4i with the kit 17-55 lens. I'm hoping to upgrade the lens soon. I usually rent better glass if I'm planning something, but this was unexpected.
I love the T4i, it's an amazing value even with the kit lens. I also shot in RAW, and color corrected everything in Lightroom 5. I'm just learning to use Lightroom, and how to shoot better for post processing, but I'd also recommend that. My girlfriend (on here as Ferrero1911) and I are doing the 'Adobe Creative Cloud'. They only sell their software by subscription, so we went all in and pay $50/month for everything they make. It gives you Premier for video editing, Photoshop, Lightroom, plus everything else. We're planning on using their whole suite for a road trip we're taking next year. We're starting in Tallinn, Estonia and heading to Amsterdam taking the long route through St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kiev, Budapest, etc. in a 1975 Lada 2103. We're blogging about it and plan to share a lot of pictures and video. It's all about visiting different car cultures around the world.

Holy hell that sounds like quite an undertaking! That should be quite an interesting read, and lots of fun. Traveling is one of my favorite things, and I love to read about other people's trips.
T4i is a great camera, been trying to save up for one for a while but there's always something else to buy first. Always liked photography but never had the time/money to put into it. Hopefully that changes soon.

Not just any Veryon, Mansory Veryon!

Just moved to irvine, and now I'm even happier about making that decision! Btw, where did you find all these info about C&C meets? Is there a forum that post those things?

Man I really need to go to CnC one of these days... I live probably less than 20 minutes from there. But it's soooo eeeeaaarllyyyyy!

Oh I don't doubt it. But three years of working in Afghanistan plus another year up in Canada, it's been a while since I've been anywhere near Irvine for any amount of time. Hopefully I'll be able to find a new job back in So Cal somewhere and return to the promised land soon. Until then, keep the photodumps coming! :)

Oh god there really is a tasteless Veyron owners out there. I wonder what the premium was to have mansory shit all over it.

Yeah, my mom is pretty rad.

Was the Datsun 14 de-bumpered or was it designed without those chrome bumpers popular before crash regulations?

I'm not sure, but I believe it is restored to factory specs. I'm no expert on Datsuns that early!

There is a forum, it's not official though. Irvine Cars and Coffee was the original (originally a different location). So I just heard about it from word of mouth.
All of the Cars and Coffee events in different places are individually run. Basically google's your friend.

That BRE 510 is probably one of my favorite race cars of all time. 190 hp at 1760 lbs. So perfect.
